Solwang Design was originally based on the beautiful hand-knitted dishcloths that the grandmother of the founder so generously provided for her family years ago. All yarn residues were used and nothing was thrown away. The knitted dishcloths formed the basis of the company that today offers the dishcloths as machine-knitted in more than 150 colours. The dishcloths are available in different stitching. The range also offers different variants of matching knitted towels, potholders, guest towels and washcloths, and different series of woven tea towels made of both linen and cotton. Everything from the series can be mixed and matched. For the knitted products, the quality of the yarn has been improved from Oeko-Tex to 100% organic yarn, and orders are shipped Carbon neutral with UPS. All packagefilling is made out of damaged cardboard boxes from production, and where possible the usable boxes are reused for shipment. Solwang Design is constantly trying to become more sustainable - not only theoretically, but also in practice.
