Over ons
OUR STORY:
Petit by basics is Danish slow fashion for kids from 0 - 8 years.
Natural materials · Danish design · made in Europe.
Minimising wastage is key to us and we apply this by using our own factory and cutting all pieces by hand.
Everything is made-to-order with an ethical mindset - no waste by overproduction.
Petit by basics is a part of 'by basics', a Danish company rooted in the Nordic heritage that upholds old virtues and high ethical standards.
In 2015, a team of passionate individuals founded the company with a mission to create uncompromising and timeless essentials for everyday wear - today, the company is present in more than 20 countries and has its own factory in Poland.
Petit by basics specialise in producing essentials for girls and boys and the permanent collection offers styles in more than 65 colours, with a focus on comfort and quality.
At petit by basics, we prioritise supporting traditional handcrafts and maximising wear time.
We have found the perfect balance with classic, comfortable, and timeless designs made from durable materials and quality construction and we only use natural materials, including 100% mulesing-free merino wool and organic cotton.
We are oeko-tex 100 certified to ensure that all products are non-toxic and comply with high international standards and we strive to be kind to the environment, which is why we have a zero-waste philosophy.
Leftover materials are upcycled for accessories, and the final fabric scraps are re-used in partnership with another company where the fabrics are unraveled and given a "second chance."
All of our hang tags and promotional materials are made with munken cradle to cradle and FSC certified paper, all made in Europe. We not only prioritise minimal environmental impact but also the safety and welfare of the people making the clothes. That's why we opened our own factory in Poland in 2019 to ensure fair salaries, health insurance, vacation, and a good social work environment.
